Materials Planner

Position Summary:

The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring timely availability of materials to support production needs.

This role will balance inventory levels, supplier performance, and demand forecasts to prevent material shortages while minimizing excess inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



* Demand Forecasting:
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, sales trends, and business inputs to support production needs and inventory optimization.



* Purchasing Coordination:
Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure timely ordering of materials based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements.

Partner with internal stakeholders to align purchasing with production schedules.



* Production Support & Order Releasing:
Support daily production operations by ensuring materials availability and readiness.

Release and manage production/work orders in alignment with the production schedule, and adjust as needed to respond to changing priorities or constraints.



* Oracle System Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within Oracle, including item master data and inventory levels.

Utilize the system to support planning, order releasing, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.



* Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent performance and reliability.

+ Manage delays, shortages, and supply disruptions
+ Ensure clear and proactive communication with suppliers and internal teams



* Inventory Control & Cycle Counting:
Support and participate in cycle count activities to ensure inventory accuracy.

Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory integrity.

Other Duties:

Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support company objectives.

Education and/or Experience:

Degree: Supply Chain or Related preferred.

Years of experience: 3 preferred.

Work Conditions: This job operates in a manufacturing office environment with some exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, dust, fumes, oil, or other outdoor elements.

This role requires regular computer use, and sitting for extended periods of time with lifting up to 10 lbs.
