Patent Attorney - Senior Counsel & Assistant Vice President

JPMorganChase is seeking a Patent Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our dynamic Technology and Intellectual Property Legal Team.

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned patent attorney to manage a diverse patent portfolio at the intersection of technology and finance.

You will be responsible for safeguarding the firm's intellectual property assets, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic legal advice to support our various lines of business.

As a Patent Attorney in the Technology and Intellectual Property Legal Team, part of the Corporate Legal Department, you will offer comprehensive legal support to the firm's global technology organization, spanning all lines of business, corporate functions, and regions.

Our team provides primary legal coverage in areas such as Intellectual Property, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies, Cloud, Data Management, Technology Transactions, Outsourcing, SaaS and Licensing Agreements, and other emerging technologies such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence or machine learning.

Additionally, our team supports the firm's most innovative and cutting-edge initiatives, including the development of new products and services, the acquisition of technology services, research and development, and external partnerships and collaborations.

Job responsibilities:


* Oversee the invention intake process, including the evaluation of invention disclosures and the formulation of appropriate protection strategies.


* Coordinate patent prosecution efforts with outside counsel, ensuring the review of draft applications and office action responses to maintain high-quality work and service standards.


* Engage in inventor outreach and education, participate in invention harvesting and brainstorming sessions, and contribute to both internal and external innovation-related events.


* Acquire in-depth knowledge of the relevant line of business and develop effective protection strategies aligned with the strategic priorities of business partners.
