Job Summary:

The Infection Preventionist (LVN) is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the facility's infection prevention and control program in accordance with CDC, CDPH, and CMS guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:


* Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention and control policies and procedures


* Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and reporting


* Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (CDC, CDPH, CMS)


* Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices


* Perform audits, rounds, and risk assessments


* Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams


* Lead outbreak investigations and response efforts

Qualifications:


* Active California LVN license (required)


* Experience in infection prevention, skilled nursing, or post-acute care preferred


* Knowledge of infection control standards and regulations


* Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills


* Ability to work independently and take initiative

Preferred:


* Infection Preventionist training or certification (IP, CIC, or willingness to obtain)


* Previous experience in a leadership or quality role
