Intern - Automation and Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation & Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join our Automation team for Summer 2026.

In this role, the intern will gain hands-on experience applying machine learning, advanced analytics, and data-driven insights to semiconductor manufacturing, working alongside our team and cross-functional engineering groups.

The intern will contribute to meaningful projects that support process optimization and anomaly prediction for the Sherman wafer manufacturing facility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Analyze manufacturing datasets to identify patterns, correlations, and potential process anomalies using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques.


* Develop and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources into structured data models.


* Build and evaluate predictive models and anomaly detection algorithms to support early detection of process deviations and improve manufacturing performance.


* Identify relevant data features, labels, and training datasets to support predictive modeling and analysis.


* Collaborate with engineering teams to translate manufacturing requirements into data-driven solutions and automation workflows.


* Present project results and deliver a working prototype with documented methodologies, models, and findings at the end of the internship.

Education & Experience


* Education Level Required: Bachelor's (rising senior)/ Master's


* Majors: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related STEM fields


* Project, academic, or coursework experience in predictive analytics, machine learning, or data science, with exposure to techniques such as deep learning, neural networks, or reinforcement learning.

Experience with semiconductor manufacturing data or processes is a plus.


* Open to currently enrolled students at the internship start date.

* Internship Duration: 10 - 14 weeks.
