Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM (32 hours/week)

Position Overview

Braces of McKinney is seeking a motivated, reliable Orthodontic Assistant to join our orthodontic team.

This role is essential in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting orthodontic procedures, and creating a positive patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both children and families in a busy orthodontic practice.

Key Responsibilities


* Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures


* Prepare treatment rooms and patients for procedures


* Take and process dental X-rays


* Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment


* Manage patient flow and ensure smooth clinic operations


* Educate patients and families on treatment plans and oral hygiene


* Maintain accurate clinical documentation


* Provide excellent patient care and customer service


* Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols

Required Qualifications


* Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification


* X-Ray certification


* Experience in orthodontics


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills


* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


* Professional demeanor and reliability


* Strong attention to detail and organization

Requirements



* A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required.


* An Orthodontist Assistant state certification, included but not limited to, nitrous oxide, dental radiology, and expanded function dental assistant (EFDA) or expanded duties dental assistant (EDDA).


* CPR certification

Job related experience:


* Experience working in a professional, medical, or dental environment with direct customer service is desired.


* A minimum of 1-year orthodontic assisting experience.

Job-related skills and competencies:


* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills- must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships.


* Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate with a pleasant demeanor at all times.


* Communication- effective written and verbal communication is a must with all staff and management.
