Overview

The Task Force / Special Projects Digital Marketing Director serves as a strategic and operational leader for HEI's portfolio, deployed to high-priority hotels in transition, under renovation, opening, or requiring focused digital/commercial support.

This role combines the agility of a task force assignment with the expertise of a digital marketing director-driving performance, executing rapid-turnaround strategies, and ensuring hotels are positioned for long-term digital success.

Task Force & Deployment Support

• Serve as an embedded digital marketing leader for properties undergoing openings, transitions, acquisitions, or critical repositioning.

• Rapidly assess property marketing needs, audit digital performance, and implement action plans to stabilize and optimize performance.

• Partner with on-property teams, ownership, and revenue leaders to address urgent needs and establish long-term digital strategies.

Digital Marketing Leadership

• Lead comprehensive audits of property websites, SEO, content, and third-party distribution channels; implement improvements to drive direct bookings.

• Manage digital advertising campaigns (Meta, Google, Sojern, metasearch, brand platforms) with a focus on ROI and efficiency.

• Partner with brands (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Independent, etc.) to maximize field marketing and brand.com resources while leveraging HEI's independent capabilities.

• Oversee social media, email marketing, and content creation strategies tailored to each property's market and positioning.

Special Projects & Innovation

• Support corporate initiatives and enterprise projects (e.g., website overhauls, loyalty integrations, AI/SEO pilots, new digital tools).

• Lead cross-functional projects that drive innovation across HEI's portfolio, balancing brand requirements with independent creativity.

• Provide training and guidance to property marketing leaders, elevating digital capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, hospitality marketing preferred; at least 3 years in a director-level role.

• Deep expertise in SEO, paid media, social media, email marketing, and e-commerce strategy.

• Strong familiarity with hotel brand systems (Marriott MDS, Hilton Brainlabs, Hyatt Field Marketing, IHG Studio, etc.).

• Proven ability to assess underperforming digital channels and deliver measurable improvements quickly.
