Requirements:

The Critical Care team at Abiomed is seeking a co-op to help design the next generation of innovative cardiac support devices.

The candidate will work on a cross-functional team, translating user needs into innovative workflows and designs.

This is a great opportunity to gain skills in implementing the end-to-end user-centered design process.


* Create and prepare design elements, style guides, templates and finished solutions for developer handoff


* Work closely with designers, product and data scientists to define UI interactions and specs


* Plan, conduct and present primary and secondary research in order to inform experience requirements


* Design user flows, lo-fi, mid-fi and high-fi concepts, prototypes and other design artifacts

Qualifications:


* Student pursuing a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, UX Design or relevant field


* Experience designing interfaces in Figma or similar


* A working knowledge of usability best practices, accessibility guidelines and current design trends


* An understanding of qualitative user research methodologies


* An interest in medical devices and the healthcare industry

 Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
