Lead Software Engineer - Encompass Administrator

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Home Lending, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by Interpreting technical and business objectives, identifying challenges and providing innovative solutions to address them.

Job responsibilities


* Proven track record in supporting mortgage operations by enhancing workflow efficiency, ensuring compliance, and managing system integrations.


* Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers/system analysts on daily tasks and activities.


* Ensures optimal performance of all Home Lending systems leading to enhanced productivity and adherence to compliance regulations.


* Design and maintain custom input forms, business rules, field triggers, loan programs, and personas to streamline lending workflows.


* Support system upgrades, testing, and change management, ensuring minimal disruption during releases.


* Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.


* Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.


* Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.


* Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.


* Experienced Encompass Administrator with over 7+ years of hands-on expertise in configuring, customizing, and maintaining the Encompass LOS platform to support retail, wholesale, and correspondent lending channels.


* Familiarity with API calls, Encompass plugins, OOP framework, and version control tools like GitHub.


* Exposure to JavaScript, particularly in the context of Encompass Web.


* Experience in writing and maintaining REST / SOAP Based APIs.


* Working Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git -based workflows or configuration-as-code practices.


* Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists and practical cloud native experience.


* Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.


* Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle and in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.


* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.


* Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
