Director of Operations

Alta Equipment Company is seeking a full-time Director of Operations for our construction equipment group at our South Elgin, IL location.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for the Parts and Service departments for our Illinois CE locations.

This position is focused on the development of the parts and service operations in the region while also supporting all other aspects of business.

The expected salary range for this role ranges between $130,000-$150,000 USD/year based on candidate overall experience.

The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:



* Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.



* Oversee all aspects of the Parts and Service departments for multiple branches, continue to drive efficiencies and ensure they are profitable and provide a great customer experience.



* Monitoring the safety, cleanliness, and environment status of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces.



* P&L of both Parts and Service departments.



* Manage internal & external workload at branches along with customer satisfaction.



* Monitor Work in Process control and daily invoicing.



* Understand business KPIs and be able to communicate process improvements to direct reports to attain desired results.



* Inventory control and organization.



* Interact with all internal departments, Rental, Sales, Finance, IT, Human Resources, etc.



* Work to resolve customer disputes.



* Work with our manufacturers on warranty issues to provide positive outcomes for our customers and Alta.



* Communicate strategy and results to employees.



* Oversee hiring and development of key staff within region.



* Performs other duties as assigned.



* Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time.



* Willing to travel instate.

Qualifications:


* A minimum of 4-6 years of management experience is required with preferential treatment to those who have managed at an equipment dealership.


* Bachelor's degree is preferred.



* Ability to effectively manage others.



* Time management skills.



* Organization skills.



* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.



* Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI, and ability to learn Alta business system.



* Language Skills - Intermediate:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.



* Mathematical Skills - Intermediate:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
