Regulatory Compliance Officer - Strategic Partnerships
Job Summary
A Regulatory Compliance Officer – Strategic Partnerships will be responsible for the compliance oversight of certain Strategic Partnership programs.
Primarily, this position will ensure that the Bank’s partners maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Act as the primary compliance expert and contact for assigned external partnership programs.
Conduct on-site reviews of partners.
Travel required as needed, up to 25% of time, usually 2-4 consecutive days per trip.
Aid in the execution and refinement of compliance monitoring programs to test the compliance controls and procedures of partners.
Evaluate, adjust and oversee a partner’s Compliance Management System to ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines and Bank standards
Execute the Bank’s second line of defense of a partner’s CMS (Risk Assessment, Monitoring & Testing, Issue Management, Complaints, etc.)
Report to Executive Management, through reports and verbal presentations, of key developments related to a partner about regulatory compliance and determine the impact of those developments to the Bank
Ensure that existing and proposed partner’s business practices, policies, procedures, loan pricing, origination software systems, marketing materials, customer correspondence, documents and disclosures comply with federal and state regulations
Stay abreast of all federal and state regulatory changes related to consumer protection and privacy and ensure those changes are communicated to and addressed by Bank management and partners
Assist and oversee the response and resolution of internal and external audit findings
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
8-10 years of banking experience
Minimum 5 years banking regulatory compliance experience
Experience in both federal and state laws and requirements
CRCM Certification strongly preferred
Direct experience dealing with regulatory bodies is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
In depth knowledge of bank regulations, requirements, and application of those regulations
Establishes effective working relationships among team members
Excellent ability to analyze and interpret legal and statutory materials as well as state and federal regulations
Obtain and maintain proficient knowledge of bank products, services, policies and procedures
Sound decision making, strong self-confidence and good judgement is required
Able to work independently
Strong attention to detail and effective written and oral communication skills are required
Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Work and Outlook)
