About the Role

Have you considered this enviable lifestyle option before? We are looking for an experienced Mine Surveyor to join the Technical Services department at our Willowdale Bauxite Mine.

This is a rare opportunity to work on a mine site less than 150 km’s from Perth, where you will spend nights at home with your family.

This drive-in-drive-out location offers 10.3 hr workdays for an even time shift roster.

As a Mine Surveyor you will be essential to operational support by providing timely and accurate services associated with site development, production & rehabilitation.

Acting as a key interface for the technical services department, this role is responsible for ensuring Department Mines and Petroleum compliance through best practice techniques and regulated survey standards, contributing to Environmental Health & Safety practices to help achieve an injury free workplace & reduce environmental impact.

The role reports directly to the Senior Mine Surveyor and works in collaboration with Mining Engineers, Mine Planning Coordinators, Grade Controllers, Production/Development/Rehabilitation Group Leaders and Geologists to ensure the efficient development and extraction of all available bauxite, followed by the execution of best practice rehabilitation, at Willowdale.

Using a combination of traditional and new technologies including total stations, integrated Global Navigation Satellite Systems and remotely piloted aircraft, day-to-day survey expectations include but are not limited to:


* Reliable & accurate surveys of mining advances along with the set out of key development areas for consistent planning and operational guidance.


* Machine guidance support through design work, calibration & QA/QC checks.


* Reconciliation of mining areas and volumes moved through regular reporting.


* Detailed and timely updates of site survey records.


* Timely and accurate UAV surface surveys to assist Rehabilitation and Drainage teams with quality data for design, progress tracking, and conformance to plan checking


* Work autonomously and be responsible for the daily management of surveying priorities, duty of care, safety and the environment


* Ensure procedures are up to date & following best practices.


* Facilitate training and development of self and peers by active participation (and leading by example) in matters concerning safety awareness, forest hygiene, technology changes and by maintaining a high standard of quality and quantity of work output.
