Extrusions Operator - Night Shift

About the role  

This is a full time Night Shift role, Monday to Friday 10:45 pm to 7:00 am located in Avondale, Auckland.

The role is to contribute to the performance of the extrusions manufacturing team by ensuring compliance to all safe working practices, production schedule and meeting all product specifications.

What will you do? 


* Set up production lines including tooling and ancillary equipment as required to ensure that extruders are run at their optimum working conditions 


* Implement and achieve the production plan set for the shift by TL/master scheduler 


* Contribute to the efficient production performance by maintaining the correct process conditions to achieve specified machine speed, uptime and recovery while maintaining a consistent level of quality. 


* Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of equipment, systems and people by sharing process knowledge and skill.

This will include suggesting improvements to ensure that documentation is promptly updated. 


* Troubleshooting process problems as they arise, following up as required if unable to solve the problem within set time frames. 


* Contribute to task specific training of members in own team and review of all plant processes and procedures 


* Responsible for ensuring tool changes are conducted are in safe and timely manner and tooling is stored as per company procedures. 


* Other duties as assigned by Team Leader 

About you   


* Previous experience as a Plastics Technician is required (min 2 years)


* Effective communication and decision-making skills 


* Excellent understanding of health/safety procedures and ERP systems 


* Forklift licence (would be advantageous) 


* Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Excel
