Project Engineer - Utility Solar

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a Project Engineer to join the team.

DEPCOM is an emerging leader in the EPC and O&M of Utility-Scale PV power plants, Battery Energy Storage and Repowering projects.

This role will support utility scale solar and battery energy storage projects ranging up to 300MW.

This role can be based remotely within the U.S.

with up to 50% travel.

Travel is typically 2 times monthly, Monday-Friday, contingent to business needs.

This position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

The Project Engineer supports the execution of DEPCOM projects and provides superior value to our customers by ensuring our projects are designed, permitted, and constructed on time and in compliance with laws, codes, and requirements.

What You Will Do


* Coordinate with all engineering disciplines in updating engineering drawings, project design, permitting support or assistance in solving engineering problems on assigned utility scale solar PV and/or battery storage projects


* Build rapport with customers and find strategic opportunities to drive long-term mutually beneficial relationships


* Work with various permitting agencies throughout the country to obtain construction permits that align with project schedules and contractual obligations


* Coordinate with other DEPCOM departments including procurement, scheduling, construction, quality and commissioning to ensure that design criteria, permitting, requirements, and other items which form the basis of the design are understood and captured in appropriate documentation


* Maintain engineering and design documentation through the project specific document control platform, typically ViewPoint for Projects.

This includes maintaining revision history and formal transmittals to customers and third parties


* Proactively identify critical constraints and partner with the right team members to devise contingency plans


* Ensure engineering work is in compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulation, codes, standards and safety practices


* Assist procurement in determining quantities, lead times, and applicability of selected equipment and material


* Actively participate in customer meetings and weekly presentations


* Manage and supervise Field Engineer(s) while applying Principle Based Management philosophy to support the team


* Assist the DEPCOM subcontracting department in the development and refinement of subcontractor scope of work


* Maintain and oversee all engineering change requests, requests for information, and material submittals during construction
