As an Apprentice Manufacturing Technician, you will:


* Support the operation and monitoring of processing equipment, including injection molding and extrusion machines, to ensure efficient production of contact lenses.


* Conduct regular inspections on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.


* Gather and record data related to production volumes, process parameters, and quality metrics, assisting in the analysis for continuous improvement purposes.


* Participate in routine maintenance tasks, helping to keep machinery and equipment in good working condition.


* Work alongside experienced technicians to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve production line issues promptly.


* Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).


* Work collaboratively with colleagues in various roles, including engineers, production operators, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure smooth operations on the production floor.


* Engage in on-the-job training programs to learn about materials, processing techniques, and industry standards related to medical device manufacturing.


* Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing process enhancements and efficiency measures based on observations and training.

Required Qualifications:


* Educational Background: Leaving Certificate, Grade 06 at ordinary level in 5 subjects, including a pass in Math and a language (English or Irish preferred)


* Attitude: A positive demeanor and a hard-working ethos


* Experience: Practical experience is desirable but not required
