Alaska Marine Trucking provides and manages local freight distribution services in Alaska which includes loading, unloading, warehousing, pickup and delivery.

Alaska Marine Trucking works closely with Alaska Marine Lines in coastal communities throughout Southeast, Central, and Western Alaska.

We currently have an opening for a Driver in Kensington, Alaska.

SUMMARY:

Alaska Marine Trucking has an opening for a CLASS A CDL DRIVER/OPERATOR, Kensington Mine, (remote) Juneau Alaska.

The Kensington mine is a remote mine located outside of Juneau Alaska.

Successful applicants will be required to work in extreme weather conditions and be will need to be familiar with remote site work and operating equipment in a remote environment.

Any combination of over the road, Line-Haul, Local or winter driving experience is preferred.

The successful candidate must be able and willing to work at a remote site for 3 weeks-on and 3 weeks-off at a time and is required to work different shifts during the scheduled rotation.

  Lodging, meals, and transportation are provided to the successful candidate working on site.

This position is a safety-sensitive position and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner is required.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Freight Operations l

Secures, unloads and loads breakbulk and less-than container load (LCL) freight with a variety of equipment including banding, dunnage, lumber, binders and chains.

This position usually operates in a marine or warehouse facility.  Operates a warehouse forklift.   Supports operations by working on the deck of the barge to set and pull cones, secure containers and other equipment to the deck of the barge and assist operators as needed.  Generally involved with the process of receiving and distributing freight to and from customers at the working facility.

Assist in the maintenance of company property and general facility housekeeping duties.
