We were pioneers of “base supply centers,” stores on military bases that employ the blind and visually impaired and provide mission-critical supplies to our nation’s military.

To that end, we engage in philanthropic efforts for research into blindness and treatment for the visually impaired.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Micro Assembly Lab Technician will work directly in the GMP lab environment, manufacturing and assembling high-quality medical devices that meet stringent safety and performance standards.

The Micro Assembly Lab Technician will be responsible for critical tasks that ensure the precision and reliability of medical products.

Additionally, the role provides the potential for growth, with opportunities to train and collaborate with engineers, learning the design and development process of medical devices.

LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

Durham, NC

Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm EST

GMP Lab environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


* Manufacturing & Assembly: Work in a lab environment to assemble and build medical devices using precision tools and techniques.

Maintain high standards for quality control and ensure all assemblies meet safety and regulatory requirements.


* Testing & Quality Control: Perform hands-on testing, inspections, and validations of device components and final assemblies.

Identify and resolve issues in real-time to ensure the highest product quality.


* Collaboration with Engineers: Work closely with engineers and product designers to follow design specifications, providing valuable feedback from the lab floor to inform design improvements.


* Product Design Exposure & Training: Over time, receive training and support to transition from assembly into product design, with the opportunity to assist engineers in developing and refining medical device concepts.


* Process Improvement: Actively contribute to refining and improving lab processes to increase efficiency, product quality, and safety standards.


* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, detailed records of all testing, assembly, and modifications made within the lab environment, ensuring compliance with both company standards and industry regulations.


* Lab Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all lab equipment is maintained in optimal working order, with responsibility for troubleshooting minor issues and coordinating repairs as necessary.
