Water/Wastewater Applications Engineer

Role: Applications Engineer

As an applications engineer in the water/wastewater field, you will develop technical expertise and an understanding of customer applications to assist customers with engineered solutions and support the development of new products for the market.

Typical areas of expertise are in the water and wastewater conveyance (pumps, valves and controls) and water and wastewater treatment technologies.

This role will collaborate with our engineering department to develop new applications and improve upon existing ones that will serve our clients and business well.
Must be able to objectively analyze application performance and effectively implement necessary changes along with providing
budgetary estimates for various project applications.

Essential Functions

   • Serve as the subject matter expert for customer applications with an ability to communicate to internal and external
   stakeholders how our products and services can satisfy customer requirements
   • Analyzes field data and develops product and application designs and installation techniques for projects outside the scope
   of normal efforts
   • Leads special testing efforts of unusual applications & writes technical papers
   • Provides hands-on field support for non-standard installations
   • Helps to expand the envelope of the existing product offerings
   • Responds to operations team needs for supporting data, reports, submittal information, and post-installation analysis
   • Works closely with the sales team to address high-level engineering issues related to our product and the customer’s
   systems
   • Resolves difficult engineering situations both in the planning and design phase and in the corrective action phase
   • Develops and delivers presentations for customers and the sales team
   • Assist the estimating department with analyzing engineered bid documents and assembling bid scopes and pricing
   • Assist the sales teams with product selection and budgetary estimates
   • Develop customer AutoCAD drawings

Minimum Qualifications

   • Minimum age requirement 18+
   • Bachelor’s Degree in civil/environmental/mechanical engineering, engineering technology, computer science, or a related
   field
   • 0-5 years of experience working as an engineer
   • Familiarity with AutoCAD Software
   • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
   • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
   • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; MS word, Excel, PowerPoint
   • Ability to always remain professional and courteous with customers
