POSITION TITLE: Sr.
Staff Firmware Engineer
REPORTS TO: Firmware Director
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience with/knowledge of wireless sensor protocols desired.
* Experience working with microcontrollers and microprocessors required, such as: ARM, TI MSP-430, K60/Cortex M4, 8051, etc.
(Silicon Labs radio development experience a plus).
* Knowledge of/experience with scripting languages desired (Python scripts in particular are a plus).
* Comfortable working closely with hardware and hardware engineers, bringing up boards, interpreting data sheets and schematics, and developing device drivers.
* Skilled with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, IAR or eclipse-based debuggers and Wireshark.
* Good software design foundation, geared toward quality and re-use.
Test-driven development is a plus.
* Experience with developing use cases, high level and detailed design documents.
* Good at gathering and analyzing requirements, figuring out details, finding root causes.
* Creation and execution of unit and integration test plans and test cases (experience in QA-level testing a plus).
* Good written and verbal communication skills, possession of soft skills is very important.
* Experience with source code control tools such as SVN/Subversion, Git, or similar tools is required.
* Experience with/knowledge of defect tracking tool such as Trac, Bugzilla, ClearQuest, or similar tools is a plus.
* Fast learner and a team player, with positive, can-do attitude.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, CS, or software-related field required.
* Over 7+ years of applicable work experience required.
* Embedded RTOS and "bare metal" development experience is required (embedded Linux experience a plus).
* Embedded firmware development experience in C is required.
COMPENSATION:
* $140k-$160k
