Speech Therapist/Speech Language Pathologist (Full Time)
Speech-Language Pathologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
The SLP will collaborate with healthcare professionals, develop individualized treatment plans, and ensure compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Patient Care & Evaluation:
+ Conduct patient evaluations within 24 hours (or one business day) of physician referral.
+ Document any delays in evaluation with a clear explanation in the medical record.
+ Develop effective treatment plans and obtain physician approval.
+ Administer treatment in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
* Collaboration & Supervision:
+ Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) in direct patient care and related activities, following state regulations.
+ Communicate patient progress, concerns, and treatment plans with supervisors and healthcare team members.
+ Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
* Documentation & Compliance:
+ Maintain accurate and timely records, including evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and recertification documentation.
+ Ensure compliance with state practice acts, facility policies, and third-party payer requirements.
+ Document treatment modifications as per policy and procedures.
* Education & Training:
+ Provide caregiver and family education on maintenance programs and discharge planning.
+ Conduct in-service training for facility staff as needed.
+ Serve as a clinical preceptor for CFY/RFP Speech-Language Pathologists and student interns.
* Regulatory Compliance:
+ Adhere to all state licensing requirements and facility policies.
+ Maintain professional licensure and fulfill continuing education requirements.
Qualifications:
* Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) required; Master's or Doctorate preferred.
+ Proficiency in clinical documentation software (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare).
* Skills:
+ Strong ability to interpret and apply technical and clinical information.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to analyze and solve practical problems in patient care.
* Licenses & Certifications:
+ Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state.
+ Must maintain an active license and meet continuing education requirements.
Physical Requirements:
* Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and pushing/pulling.
* Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
* Ability to exert up to 100 lbs.
