Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Capital Project Engineer to join our Specialty ingredients G.P., business at our Hopewell, VA location .

This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Plant Engineering and Operations functions.

This position will report to the Plant Engineer Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is part of a key team responsible for the development and execution of the capital improvements at the Hopewell Plant.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:



* Ensure safe and responsible design, installation, and start-up of projects.

Responsible for ensuring projects meet all regulatory and Ashland requirements.


* Active member of the Capital Project Team managing various projects at different stages of execution concurrently.


* Responsible for the scoping, planning and design of capital projects onsite.

This may include front end loading design, detailed design, preparation of bid packages, and selection of contractors and vendors.


* Responsible for the installation of projects including direct supervision of construction forces and assuring a safe, workable installation.


* Integrated in the execution of projects throughout the total lifecycle from scoping to start-up


* Provide support to corporate capital engineers on an as-needed basis from design through commission or large installations and start-up of new facilities.


* Responsible for tracking and managing timeline, spend, and forecasting of responsible projects.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:



* BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil engineering.


* A minimum 10+ years in Capital Engineering, Project Engineering or Project Construction in an industrial or manufacturing environment.


* Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently and work in a team environment.


* Multiple years of experience in managing projects
