This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and ensures the logistics department operates safely and efficiently.

It requires an understanding of functional areas and team leadership.

The position also leads logistics projects for warehouse improvements and acts as a liaison for third-party operations (if applicable) regarding raw materials and finished goods.

In this role, you will:


* Develop strategies, objectives, and plans to optimize Distribution Center and Material Flow operations, ensuring On-Time/In Full, top-notch storage and handling, and high inventory accuracy with low damage.


* Drive logistics value capture activities to eliminate waste, improve storage density, and achieve cost savings.


* Provide input on improving processes, standards, or operational plans supporting mill/Logistics strategies, impacting overall business unit results.


* Maintain safe working conditions and promote a people-based safety culture aligned with plant objectives.


* Lead and develop the site Logistics team, providing direction to ensure effective labor resource utilization.


* Build and maintain supplier relationships with third-party operations and hold them accountable for performance.


* Develop and implement cost management practices and improvement programs.


* Manage materials handling equipment, including lift trucks, robotic cells, palletizers, and conveyance systems.


* Oversee Trailer Yard services, ensuring safety and efficiency.
