About the Role:
As a Youth & Teen Center Mentor, you will play a vital role in fostering a welcoming, safe, and enriching space for youth and teens.

You will collaborate with the Camp, Youth & Family Director to develop and implement programs, coordinate events, and engage with the community to support youth development.

This role is an opportunity to make a lasting impact while upholding the YMCA's mission of strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities: Youth Programs & Event Coordination


* Plan, organize, and facilitate daily programs, recreational activities, and special events for youth and teens.


* Assist with coordinating field trips and enrichment activities that align with youth interests.


* Ensure all programs reflect youth development best practices and YMCA values.

Outreach & Community Engagement


* Support outreach efforts by attending school visits, community meetings, and local events.


* Serve as a point of contact for youth and families, providing program information and connecting them with community resources.

Mentorship & Leadership Development


* Build positive, trusting relationships with youth by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.


* Act as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and encouragement.


* Support youth leadership initiatives, empowering young people to take an active role in program planning.

Safety & Facility Oversight


* Ensure the Youth Center remains clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.


* Supervise the space, including behavior management and conflict resolution as needed.


* Assist in safety drills and emergency response procedures.

Administrative & General Support


* Maintain accurate attendance records, program documentation, and reports.


* Communicate program updates to youth, families, and community partners.


* Support additional tasks assigned by the Camp, Youth & Family Director to enhance the success of the Youth Center.
