Senior Manager of Safety
What do you get to do in this position?
• Provide safety and environmental leadership and expertise across multiple manufacturing sites in the US and Mexico.
• As a member of the North American safety leadership team, serve as a subject matter expert and activitely lead regional safety programs to standardize approaches in the areas such as Ergonomics, Rack Storage, Equipment Stability Analysis, Industrial Hygiene, Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs), Dock Safety, Industrial Machine Safety, etc.
• Provide guidance and support to Cluster VP as well as the Cluster Leadership team including engagement and consistency.
• Direct and guide the site-level safety and environment managers/engineers to drive a consistent safety culture, performance improvement and full compliance with all Schneider policies, directives and mandates.
Mentor and develop site-level safety and environment managers/engineers.
• Promote employee engagement and collaboration to improve the safety culture through programs such as the Safety Culture Survey, EHS Asssessment and behavior-based safety programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with national, state and local regulations.
Interact with regulatory agencies, as appropriate.
• Support OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001/50001 certifications, as required.
• Oversee the incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed and verified effective per required timeline.
• Monitor appropriate leading/lagging metrics, evaluate data trending, and provide data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of safety performance.
• Support the environmental/sustainability programs within the distribution centers: energy, water and waste reduction programs; support CO2 reduction programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits; participate in external and/or global compliance audits, customer audits and loss prevention audits; ensure timely completion of corrective actions and drive continuous improvement

This job might be for you if you have:
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive safety & environmental experience in a manufacturing/distribution center environment is required, including demonstrated leadership and managing teams of safety professionals.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple locations in a leadership position is required.
• Experience and expertise in occupational ergonomics is required.
• Bachelor degree in occupational safety, sciences, engineering or related field is required.
Post graduate qualification in safety, health, or related field (engineering or sciences) is strongly desired.
