FIELD OPERATIONS DISPATCHER - SULPHUR
TANKERMAN SERVICES
I.
BASIC FUNCTION
* Provide support to Tankerman Services and CBC Transportation Services.
* Dispatch manpower in an efficient manner.
* Maximize customer service to allow for the achievement of Company goals under the direction of the Manager of Tankerman Services.
II.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work rotating 12 hour shifts, 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off.
* Learn CBC communication and computer systems to ensure flawless communications with customers, vendors, and fellow CBC employees.
* Answer incoming telephone calls and ensure they are forwarded or received by the appropriate party when further assistance is required.
* Provide dispatch support for Tankerman Services Group and ensure that all Shore Tankermen (inhouse and third party) requirements are communicated in a timely manner.
* Monitor emails, messages, and calls and communicate information to those who need it.
* Monitor and enter Barge Maintenance reports into the TowWorks system.
* Maintain an accurate log of all incoming calls, personnel locations, and barge cleanings.
* Use resources effectively to understand CBC Operations.
* Provide a documented turnover report from Field Operations daily.
* Learn CBC barge services (customer commitments and requirements) and how to fulfill them under the direction of Manager of Tankerman Services.
* Understand inland marine logistics (mile points of ports/fleets, etc.)
* Coordinate with fleets and docks to dispatch tankerman or personnel in an efficient manner.
* Coordinate/communicate tankering services according to requirements
* Coordinate/communicate barge cleaning according to requirements
* Communicate issues to area Dispatchers for resolution
* Develop working relationships with towing vendors, fleets, and boats to ensure the timely and proper movement of equipment and tankermen.
* Learn other Transportation Systems Department duties.
III.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
* Minimum two years’ experience in the marine transportation industry preferred or a college degree.
* The Dispatcher must be disciplined, motivated, proactive, fast-working, detail oriented, and a self-starter who can work without direct supervision on a daily basis.
