Intern, Enterprise Software Developer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Develop a common application platform using bleeding edge opensource software stack


* Work with an enterprise applications development team building new applications for internal users and employees

Education & Experience


* Currently pursing a Bachelors or Master's degree in computer science or related field.


* Familiar with open source tools like API gateways, Schedulers, CI/CD, Log analysis, Reporting and dash boarding.


* Experience and/or interest in some (not all) of the following: NodeJS, React Native, Angular JS, VueJS, MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Java.


* Excited about using latest opensource software & frameworks, methodologies & tools.


* Not afraid to evaluate/try new methodologies/frameworks/tools to improve development process and/or user experience.

Skills


* Not afraid to evaluate/try new methodologies/frameworks/tools to improve development process and/or user experience.


* Excited about joining a team that is focused on building next generation platform that will be used by employees around the world.


* Have past application development Internship or Project experience is a plus.


* Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.

Working Conditions


* This position is onsite


* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary


* Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job


* May require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate project

Physical Requirements


* Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.


* Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.


* Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.


* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.


* Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.
