Treasurer Tax Collector - Unpaid Student Intern
The County of Riverside's Treasurer Tax-Collector Department is currently seeking an Unpaid Student Intern.
The in-person student internship position is based in Riverside County and offers a flexible work week consisting of approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility granted around academic obligations.
The selected candidate can anticipate the internship to be one year in length.
The goal for interns is to acquire knowledge of property taxes and the applicable Revenue and Taxation (R&T) codes relevant to the duties of the Treasurer-Tax Collector.
The intern will gain experience in acquiring foundational knowledge of property tax collection, responding to related inquiries, researching payment details, creating letters, and understanding basic R&T codes.Under supervision, assists and participates in the work performed by employees of a specific profession; Through participation, receive supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation, and performs other related duties as required.
The intern will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Researching payment details
* Creating claimant records for refunds
* Providing supporting documentation for review
* Assisting with phone inquiries
* Generating letters for partial payments or overpayments
Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average : 2.5 GPA required.
Proof of most current unofficial/official transcript with cumulative GPA must be provided at time of application as well as a resume and supervisor work references, if possible.
Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled/attending school at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor's degree or Certificate program.
Areas of Study : Arts and Humanities, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar, Public or Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Studies or similar, Psychology, Sociology, or other Behavioral Sciences.

* Good communication skills both written and verbal
