The Linux Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of our Linux server environment.

This includes installation, configuration, troubleshooting, security hardening, and performance monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and scripting, as well as experience with automation tools and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:


* Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, primarily RHEL.


* Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.


* Monitor system performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.


* Implement and maintain security hardening measures to protect against vulnerabilities.


* Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely support to application administrators and end-users.


* Configure and deploy monthly patches through Red Hat Satellite.


* Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).


* Deploy and manage applications and services on Linux servers.


* Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth operation of the infrastructure.


* Maintain accurate documentation of systems and procedures.


* Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.


* Stay up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and security best practices.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.


* Proven experience as a Linux Administrator (minimum 5 years).


* Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu).


* Proficiency in command-line interface and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).


* Knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).


* Experience with virtual (VMware) and physical systems.


* Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Solarwinds).


* Knowledge of cloud platforms (particularly Azure) is a plus.


* Experience with an enterprise scheduling tool is a plus.


* Familiarity with security best practices and hardening techniques.


* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
