Customs Compiler

DHL Global Forwarding (Australia) Pty Ltd is a global leader in the Freight Forwarding industry. 

We are currently recruiting for a Customs Compiler based in the Melbourne office to join our Customs Team!

Overall Role Purpose

As a Customs Compiler, you will be required to:



* Prepare customs documents as required per local customs regulations


* Feed data into customs operating system


* Provide general administrative support to others within Customs


* Works closely with other teams to ensure open lines of communication are maintained and effective customer requests are resolved


* Supporting the team as required with ad hoc requirements


* Sets up master data for transactions

* Executes pre & post-entry work/transactions


* Maintains documentation/SOPs


* Clearance document follow up


* Supports/maintains operational systems


* Direct liaison with customers


* Resolves duty/tax and billing issues


* Conducts quality and best practice audits


* Manages COD payments


* Executes back-office duties (e.g.

scanning, filing, reporting)
 

Accountabilities



* Building Customer rapport knows all customer billing requirements and maintains close contact with the customer


* Works closely with other teams to ensure open lines of communication are maintained.
 

Required Qualifications



* Previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight / Import operational roles (advantageous)


* Minimum two (2) years previous experience in a customs support environment or similar


* Minimum two (2) years previous experience in operations - Air/Ocean Freight or similar.


* Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics in general
