Senior Material Planner - 1st Shift

1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

As the Senior Warehouse Planner, you will take responsibility for the demand planning and forecasting functions for selected clients.

What you'll do on a typical day:
* Review new purchase requisitions and release purchase orders to suppliers.
* Review and release delivery schedules to suppliers
* Follow up communication with suppliers to confirm deliveries
* Assist with special inbound transportation as required and track inbound shipments
* Communication with our Order Management team to inform them of part availability for customer orders
* Problem resolution and escalation management
* Special project management and/or support as required
* Support department in achieving KPI targets for inventory levels and order fill rates
* Research, develop, and implement methods of reducing costs, improving processes, and optimizing planning outputs
* Maintain documentation of processes and local work instructions as required
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
* 2 years of experience leading complex demand planning activities
* Experience with basic data research and analytical tools (Excel, Access, etc.)
* Understanding of and experience with forecasting solutions, concepts and applications, as well as defining, modeling and applying demand planning processes and tools
* Experience handling and/or developing inventory and supply/demand models within the retail, manufacturing or distribution industries
It'd be great if you also have:
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
* APICS Certification or willingness to earn certification
* Experience with SAP or equivalent MRP Systems
* German language a plus but not required
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
