Nursing Education Specialist - PICU, NICU, and Diagnostics

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, 100% FTE salaried position.

The scheduled shifts are primarily Monday-Friday, day shifts with some off shifts and weekends.

Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.

You will work on-site primarily at American Family Children's Hospital located in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Nursing Education Specialist to:


* Facilitate and conduct the initial onboarding and continued professional development of nursing staff primarily at American Family Children's Hospital (AFCH), with a focus on inpatient and procedural pediatric care.
+ Areas of pediatric inpatient support include pediatric intensive care (PICU) and neonatal intensive care (level IV NICU).

Areas of procedural/diagnostic support include the Diagnostic Therapy Center at AFCH.


* Curriculum and program development to support education for nursing staff at AFCH.

This will include collaboration across departments.


* Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs.


* Participate in the promotion and delivery of new house wide initiatives.


* Complete assigned Nursing Education Specialist (NES) responsibilities based on needs of the department.

Qualifications



* Master's Degree in Nursing Required


* Master's Degree in Nursing Education Preferred

Work Experience



* 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required


* 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience with position specific patient population Preferred


* 3 years of experience providing orientation and education for nursing staff in clinical setting Preferred


* Relevant experience in primary and specialty clinic settings for NES candidates working in ambulatory areas Preferred
