Planner I
Job Summary
Planner I position is responsible for applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks, exercises limited judgment on details of work and acquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

Essential Functions
* Manages time wisely, and requests assistance when direction is needed.
* Receives close supervision on assignments.
* Receives guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems.
* Collect and compile data and gather information.
* Coordinate with project stakeholders.
* Assist with proposal development.
* Prepare permit applications.
* Prepare grant applications.
* Write comprehensive reports with original content.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically and creatively.
* Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, meet deadlines.
* Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
* Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet deadlines.
* Skilled in interpersonal communication assisting staff, project stakeholders, and occasionally clients.
* Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Ability to travel and perform field work in adverse arctic conditions.
* Ability to perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
* Ability to facilitate public meetings (public speaking).
* Skilled in verbal and written communication.
* Ability to use visual graphic software like AutoCAD, InDesign, or others for presentation figures.
Required Education and Experience
* High school diploma or GED.
* A valid driver's license.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or planning.
