Georgia-Pacific is now hiring immediately an experienced PLC Electrical Technician for our Emporia, VA plywood manufacturing facility.

This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment/processes.

Maintenance team members will be expected to possess and refine multiple skills.

For this role, we anticipate paying $40.49 per hour with OT and benefits.

What You Will Do



* Programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining all Rockwell / Allen Bradley families of controllers (5 and later) and their HMI's


* Troubleshooting and maintaining Mitsubishi controllers


* Reading assembly drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts


* Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic circuits


* Maintaining, troubleshooting, and replacing control devices


* Understanding and using data to improve productivity


* Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures


* Assisting crew members and work in team environment


* Helping meet or exceed production waste and quality goals


* Helping on any shift, including holidays, weekends and overtime as needed


* Utilize some personal hand tools on the job

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* At least 5 years of electrical controls and PLC experience in a plant support role OR at least 3 years' experience as an OEM integrator with Rockwell controls


* At least 2 year of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience


* Experience reading technical drawings and schematics


* Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic systems


* Experience troubleshooting hydraulic equipment, circuits, and components

What Will Put You Ahead



* Two (2) year technical degree


* 4+ years as an OEM machine integrator

This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this role is set at $40.49 per hour.
