Business Development Officer - Clarksville TN

Altra Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer to join our team in Clarksville, TN.

Altra is a $2.9MM Credit Union with Business Banking hubs in 4 states.

We are focused on the continued growth of our portfolio and the communities we serve.

Due to our size, we are competitive and have capacity for larger deals.

In this position you will manage existing and develop new small business relationships, help promote and market small business loans, SBA guaranteed loans and deposit accounts to members and prospects.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on sales experience selling financial services, consulting services, banking services and/or business services.

Key Responsibilities:


* Opening and closing of credit union business membership accounts, certificates of deposit and checking accounts and perform maintenance as necessary.


* Setting up and maintaining merchant credit card services and affiliated equipment for business members, addressing customer service issues as they arise.


* Identify and collect necessary financial data and related information to support loan requests and prepare financial analysis and loan review of that information.


* Review the credit request, make recommendations, approve loans within specified authority, or present requests to Business Sales Manager and/or Business Loan Committee when appropriate.


* Establish and negotiate loan terms and structure with members, including fees, interest rate, repayment options, collateral, and other terms within established guidelines or specified authorities.


* Perform account research and account fee analysis and Notary service


* Promote the credit union through sponsored events and community involvement.

Qualifications & Skills:


* Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related field


* 3+ years of hands-on sales experience selling financial services, consulting services, banking services and / or business services.


* Strong knowledge of business banking products.


* Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
