This position reports into the Regional Legal Director and is based at Petaling Jaya .

What You Will Do

The position is responsible for:

• Performs legal review, negotiation, and drafting of commercial agreements related to the company's transactions including NDA and Service Agreements.

• Conducting basic research related to contracts or other legal issues.

• Maintains records of contracts, systems, and databases.

• Act as initial contact with clients on matters and gathering information including communicating independently with business partners including third-party vendors and external counsels, cross-functional and Law Department colleagues, as appropriate to resolve issues or work on projects.

• Provides information regarding approval processes for contract changes.

Modifies standard existing contracts under the supervision of the attorney.

Supports continuous improvement of standard legal form agreements.

• Collecting data and preparing routine reports for internal customers and external agencies.

Compiles statistics on data requests when required.

Prepares and publishes records retention and disposition policies and schedules.

Advises internal customers on standard inquiries regarding retention guidelines.

• Resolves routine legal and procedural questions under the direction of the Legal Director

• Provide administrative support to the department

• Providing training on relevant SOPs relating to legal matters to employees, outside counsel, government agencies, and third parties, as appropriate

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

• College degree or law degree with PQE of a minimum 2 years as a legal assistant or a paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department;

Experience and Skills

• Exposure to corporate secretarial is preferred but not a requirement.

• Good drafting skills and an eye for detail.

• Must be fluent in written and spoken English.

• Must be able to prepare PowerPoint presentations.

• Working knowledge of legal research principles, methods, techniques, and resources.
