Scientist II - in-vitro Methodologies - Sun Protection

This position reports to Translational Science Manager and is based at São José dos Campos

Role reports to: R&DTranslational Science Manager

Location: São José dos Campos - SP

What you will do

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist with expertise in in-vitro methodologies for sun protection methods.

The ideal candidate will have foundation in photobiology, statistics, and regulatory standards, including ISO and FDA SPF normatives.

This role will involve designing/optmizing, executing, and analyzing in-vitro studies related to UV protection and suncare formulations performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the testing strategy and study leverage approach ensuring technical rigor .

• Design, optimize and implement in-vitro methodologies to evaluate sunscreen formulation performance, such as, UVAPF, critical wavelength, photostability , in-vitro SPF.

• Manage testing demands and workload according to business priorities, ensuring timely completion of projectsConduct the in-vitro experiments within the company's quality standards.

• Analyze , interpret data and situations involving the evaluation of tangible and identifiable variables related to in-vitro methodologies for sun protection drawing meaningful conclusions to advise product development

• Validate predictive tools and models

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance.

• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to internal stakeholders.

• Stay current with scientific literature and advancements in sun protection research and methodologies.

• Manage contracts and external vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Science, Engineering, Health areas or its correlates (Photobiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, etc)

• Advanced English (Speak, Read, Write)

• 2-4 years of related experience...
