DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a Mechanical Department Manager to lead the team in our San Diego, CA, office.

The successful candidate will be Michael Baker's lead for the mechanical operation staff, and responsible for business development, new work, as well as be a lead project manager for key projects with select clients.

The candidate will oversee business planning, resource management, and quality assurance for the entire mechanical team.

They will also be responsible for leading, developing, and growing the group of professionals servicing federal, state, county, municipal and private sector clients within the mechanical, plumbing, and piping building design expertise.

Leadership and Management:


* Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers.


* Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor team performance.


* Foster a highly collaborative and innovative work environment.


* Facilitate the resource management of the team through workload planning and assignments.


* Monitor financial performance of the team to adhere to the established annual budget.

Business Development:


* Grow revenue from existing client base through ensuring high quality work product and regular client interactions.


* Attend local industry events to create and maintain networking connections.


* Identify and win new work from new and existing clients.

Client Management:


* Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise.
