Quality Control Technician I
Select products for test at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
Primary Accountabilities:
* Audits finished goods to verify proper product color, labeling, packaging, barcodes, date codes, and that the right product is in the right packaging.
* Sets up and performs destructive and non-destructive test on materials, parts, or products to measure performance life and material characteristics.
* Recommends modification of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment specifications.
* Interprets engineering drawings or schematic diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
* Evaluates prototypes for Research and Design Engineering to determine quality and reliability.
* Records test data, applying statistical control procedures.
Evaluates data and reports to its validity or indicate deviation from existing standards.
* Instruct temporary workers in the proper method and procedure of each production task.
* Inspect and monitor the quality of WHIP parts, hardware, and purchased components.
* Inspect and audits incoming shipments of metal, components, and finished goods produced by 3rd party manufactures.
* Inspect and audits incoming customer returns, completes the Return Goods Authorization documentation.
* Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
* Report production, cycle count, report scrap, and use basic math skills.
* Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
* Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities:
* Bilingual in English/Spanish is a highly preferred skill for this position.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
* Basic knowledge of ERP/AS400/PRMS or equivalent manufacturing system.
* Knowledge of basic computer systems and barcoding equipment.

* Ability to promote teamwork among peers is a must.

* Able to lift 50 lbs.
* Able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
Work Conditions:
* Able to work long hours in hot conditions during spring and summer.
