Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team at Antietam Broadband, a leading Internet Service Provider (ISP).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable network infrastructure to deliver high-quality and reliable internet services to our customers.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex, large-scale networking projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Rate: $120,000-$150,000/year

Location: Remote

Responsibilities Include:


* Lead the design and implementation of high-performance, reliable, and scalable network infrastructures, including IP routing, switching, and broadband services.


* Design and optimize network topologies for maximum efficiency and fault tolerance.


* Provide expert-level troubleshooting of network issues, including diagnosing and resolving network connectivity, performance, and security problems.


* Collaborate with other teams to resolve escalated technical issues and outages.


* Analyze network traffic and performance to identify areas for improvement.


* Implement optimizations to enhance speed, reliability, and capacity, ensuring high availability of ISP services.


* Create and maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and changes.


* Provide regular reports on network performance, project status, and incident resolutions to management.


* Ensure network security through the deployment and management of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security measures.


* Stay up to date with security best practices, industry trends, and relevant compliance requirements.


* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including technical support, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless integration of new services and products.


* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers and technicians.


* Manage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate, select, and integrate networking equipment and software.


* Assist in negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).


* Monitor network capacity and growth trends, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet future demand.


* Conduct network performance and capacity planning, making recommendations for upgrades.

You will need to have:


* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).


* Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in the ISP industry or a similar environment.


* Extensive experience with networking technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS.


* Proven track record of troubleshooting complex network issues and optimizing network performance.
