Transportation Engineer - Entry Level
Ardurra is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic & Safety Team in Oviedo, FL!
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (full-time position) or anticipated graduation date Spring 2025 or earlier (part-time or full-time internship)
* EI/EIT certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months
* 0-2 years of previous transportation engineering work experience (internships or post-graduation)
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality
* Self-motivated, team-oriented individual with the ability to work on challenging projects in a team environment
Key Responsibilities
* Support Project Managers in the development of traffic operations design plans, including signing and pavement marking plans, signalization, lighting, and ITS plans
* Support Project Managers in the development of transportation/traffic studies such as intersection and corridor safety studies, traffic impact studies, signal warrant studies, pedestrian and bicycle safety studies, and support PD&E studies.
* Use specialized traffic engineering computer software to conduct traffic operations and capacity analysis, such as HCS, Synchro, and SIDRA.
* Work in MicroStation CAD design software
* Prepare design concepts, quantities, and cost estimates
* Prepare detailed reports, maps, figures and exhibits
* Attend public meetings and community workshops
* Conduct field reviews, existing condition assessment, system inventory, and proposed improvement design development
* Application of FDOT standards during study, concept, and plans preparation
* FDOT Standard Plans
* Florida Design Manual (FDM)
* Florida Greenbook
* FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM)
* Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
* Other tasks as assigned
