Performance Engineer- Senior Lead Software Engineer

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the agile Performance Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future architecture and strategy through rigorous testing and enhancement of the performance capabilities of various applications.
Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will be utilized to promote substantial business impact and address a wide range of challenges across multiple technologies and applications in both private and public cloud environments.
Job Responsibilities
* Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
* Drives well-tuned implementations of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies.
* Master multi-cloud performance tooling; and lead the architecture and engineering of performance tooling to meet the firm's needs.
* Build mechanisms to measure and track application efficient use of public and private cloud resources: compute, storage, database, and network.
* Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
* Anticipate and Identify issues - Performance Engineers look for potential problems that could negatively impact performance and work to eliminate or mitigate them.
* Plan and develop methodologies for standard performance benchmarks and comparisons.
* Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
* Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
* Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
* Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
* Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
* Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
* Infrastructure knowledge of VMWare virtualization and associated tooling
* Hands-on experience in performance troubleshooting skills
