Hadoop Database Administrator
Description & Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Hadoop Database Administrator to support a cutting-edge data and analytics platform and geospatial applications for a Federal critical infrastructure agency.
They will support database requirements, with a specific focus on Hadoop, to enable integration of cutting-edge technologies (like Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning models) to deliver accessible, elastic environmental information for the agency and American public.
They will support common database languages like Oracle, MySQL, SQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL as well as configure AWS solutions such as AWS Glue and RDS.

Major responsibilities include:
* Design, model, or implement database structures as well as build and maintain various databases for stakeholder needs
* Integrate Hadoop capabilities to ingest and sustain Big Data and analytics requirements
* Effectively collaborate with business and technical agency staff to develop data vision, features, and release cycles.
* Interface with technical team members, adjacent program offices, adjacent contractors, and external stakeholders
Minimum Education requirement:
* University degree (BS) in a closely related field (Information Technology, Business Administration)
Years of Required Work-Related Experience:
* 5+ years demonstrated experience creating and sustaining integrated database platforms and applying Hadoop to meet surging data requirements.
Required Certifications:
* IBM Hadoop certification or a closely related certification
Minimum Requirements
TCS081, T3, Band 6
Preferred Key Skills and Abilities (not contractually required):
• Experience with EPA Program offices, development methodologies, and product lifecycles
