Business Development Representative

As a Business Development Representative, you are responsible for generating new client business through prospecting, networking and following up on recommendations.

You will play an instrumental role in the connection between Core Specialty Insurance and new insurance brokers by listening, consulting, and building lasting relationships.

Successful Business Development Reps own their geographic territory.

A Business Development Rep works as the tip of the spear producing and driving business for the company.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:


* Generate and prospect leads


* Develop customer accounts and build strong, long-lasting relationships for your assigned territory.


* Produce professionally written proposals and communications for clientele and for internal use.


* Review specifications and contract documentation for each new prospect and assist in onboarding new partner offices.


* Collaborate with underwriting counterparts.


* Participate in association committees and regularly attend industry events.

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:


* Outstanding telephone, presentation, time management, and computer skills.


* Writing proficiency and creativity


* Robust interpersonal skills


* Solid written and verbal communication skills

Experience:


* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience


* Sales personality with a customer focused mentality


* Previous experience with sales and business development


* Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships and engage with prospects​Strong leadership skills
