Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are responsible for assisting residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and mobility.
They monitor and promptly report any changes in residents' conditions to supervisors, ensuring all needs are met in a timely manner, including responding to call lights and performing regular check-ins.
CNAs also provide restorative and rehabilitative care as instructed, while maintaining cleanliness in residents' rooms and with their personal belongings.
Accurate documentation is essential, as CNAs must record data such as vital signs, food and fluid intake, and care provided, as well as report any accidents, incidents, or unauthorized access attempts.
They are expected to comply with confidentiality policies and promptly report any violations.
Safety and compliance are key aspects of this role, requiring adherence to protocols for infection control, exposure to bodily fluids, and proper use of medical equipment.
CNAs must report hazards, defective equipment, or safety concerns and assist in emergencies, including evacuations when necessary.
