NHC Healthcare Franklin is looking for an energetic, motivated, positive Director to join our team.

The Director is responsible for the Food & Nutrition Services Department.

Job duties include managing the department by completing schedules, completing inventory and food orders, providing ongoing education, and assisting the Registered Dietitian with clinical duties.

Position: Food and Nutrition Services Director

The Director ensures all functions of the Department, both Administrative and Clinical duties, are carried out accurately and appropriately.

Responsibilities may also include clinical duties as appropriate.

Full Time: M-F (weekends when needed)

Position Highlights:


* Responsible for overseeing the total operation of the Dietary Department.


* Plans, directs, and supervises all functions and partners.


* Responsible for the preparation and service of meals for patients and customers, considering any special diet requirements and individual food preferences.

Responsible for obtaining menu approval if not a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).


* Responsible for food and supply purchases and for maintaining expense records.

Responsible for meeting budget guidelines for food, supply, labor, and total budget and participates in budget planning.


* Responsible for equipment purchases, maintaining equipment records, notification to the maintenance department of equipment not operating properly, and in preparation of preventive maintenance sheets.


* Interviews, hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and when appropriate, terminates employees.


* Schedules work hours and assignments and reviews and checks work assignments.

Qualifications:


* Must have a sincere interest in food service & nutrition and enjoy working with the senior care living population and other healthcare patients.


* Must have A CDM license or willing to get


* Long Term Care experience preferred but not required.


* Must have a thorough knowledge of and be able to apply nutrition principles.

Must be able to accurately use this knowledge to assist Registered Dietitian to assess status and plan care for the patients.


* Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the cooperation of the employees


* Must desire to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, must be at work on time and during scheduled shift.

Requirements:
-1 year of experience as Certified Dietary Manager is preferred
