Johnson & Johnson is seeking a highly motivated and expert individual to join the Environmental Health & Safety team as the Health and Safety Officer (part-time employment), located in Zagreb, Croatia.

Summary

The Health and Safety Officer will provide and administer EHS programs in compliance with applicable requirements.

This role maintains compliance with on-going requirements and determines applicability of new laws, and regulations to site operations and informs management of potential impact.

Major duties, tasks and responsibilities include:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS requirements applicable to the site.

- Disseminate internal and external information on environmental or health & safety matters.

- Develop and implement required EHS programs for the site if applicable.

- Provide training programs to satisfy applicable environmental and health & safety regulations, including personal protective equipment, employee blood lead testing, hazard communication, and fire safety procedures.

- Complete and file government reports as required by regulatory agencies.

- Develop facility reports, key performance indicators, and EHS goals to communicate to management.

- Provide industrial hygiene and safety engineering services if necessary

- Facilitate incident investigations and communicate results to management and relevant personnel

- Determine applicability of new laws, regulations and regulatory initiatives and assess the impact of the changes on the site.

- Facilitate risk assessment at the location to identify EHS hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.

- Drive and promote zero EHS incident culture throughout the site.

- Approve, record and evaluate chemicals used in all on site steps.

- Responsibility for hazardous waste handling and disposition (administration responsibility).

- Manage and monitor environmental processes such as WWT, Air pollution etc.- University degree

- Over 5 years of EHS&S experience including minimum 2 years in senior position

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Croatian (Slovene) and English

- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate EHS information to all employees.

- Strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.

- Local EHS accreditation / certification
