Senior Right of of Way Land Agent (Sr Real Property Agent)
ABOUT THE POSITION
The County of Riverside's Transportation Department has an opportunity for a Senior Right of of Way Land Agent (Sr Real Property Agent) to join their Capital Projects Survey Division.
The Senior Right of of Way Land Agent (Sr Real Property Agent) will join a fast-growing team that is focused on acquiring real property rights that are subject to eminent domain transactions, condemnation proceedings, and project management for The Riverside County Transportation Department.
The incumbent will have demonstrated knowledge and experience with the right of way disciplines in the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970.
Additionally, the Sr ROW Agent will lead, train Real Property Agents and act as a functional lead over complex acquisitions on capital improvement projects.
The Department desires candidates who understands the various disciplines identified in the Caltrans Right of Way Manual .
The ideal candidate will have knowledge with the eminent domain process including condemnation proceedings .
Candidates with prior public agency experience, preferably in public works, or State Highways are encouraged to apply!
The Senior Real Property Agent is the advanced journey and lead level class in the Real Property Agent series and will review and assist in the work of other real property agents as well as provide technical training to subordinate staff.
The Senior Real Property Agent class is distinguished from the Supervising Real Property Agent in that the latter is responsible for full scope supervision of Real Property Agents.
Promotion to Supervising Real Property Agent is achieved through the competitive recruitment process.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Plans, organizes, supervises, and participates in the work of real property agents; provides technical direction and training to subordinate staff.
• Acts as project leader or technical expert in large-scale or complex real property assignments, including appraisals, negotiations for acquisition, sale, and lease of property, real property, and space management, or involving condemnation proceedings, title matters, relocation assistance, and other particularly sensitive aspects of real property work.
• Assigns and reviews the work of subordinate professional staff; reviews appraisals performed by independent fee appraisers.
• Prepares or supervises and reviews the preparation and executions of various documents, agreements, and correspondence involved in real property acquisition, sale, or lea...
