Gauge Lab Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Calibrates gages, inspects hand tools, adjusts gage intervals in accordance with API specifications.

Creates traceability records which tie back to NIST.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Working safely.


* Maintenance and calibration of gauges.


* Maintaining a drift inventory.


* Receiving inspections of critical parts.


* Auditing production lines.


* Documenting calibrations and repair of gauges.


* Housekeeping of the gauge room.

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:


* Must have a thorough understanding of API specifications related to tubular goods.


* Experience or training in the care and maintenance of measuring and test equipment.


* Must be proficient in API Thread Gauging.


* Must have good communication skills and be capable of maintaining historical records of gauge certifications and repairs.
