Electrical Technician Trainee

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Electrical Technician Trainee to join our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA! This is a great opportunity to work with the newest technology in Controls and Automation such as the newest versions of Studio 5000 Logix Designer, FactoryTalk SE, Ignition, 3D camera systems, Kinetix 5700 and optimization.

Salary:


* Our trainee starting pay is $ 20 /hr.


* You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on your skills, contribution to the overall performance of the mill and completion of the Qualified Person (1000 volt and less) Electrical Standard.


* Tools are provided by the company.

Shift:

• 8a-5p (Hours are dependent on your school schedule, if attending)

What You Will Do


* Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.


* Assisting with automation, production, and computer system troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all electrical equipment to ensure production continuity and efficiency.


* Assisting with various reactive and preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.


* Work with team members to identify and implement improvements.


* Learn how to research parts in electrical/mechanical manuals and submit work orders in a computerized maintenance management program.


* Assist responding to operator, quality and/or supervisor requests on equipment specifications.


* Assisting operators or crew members with machine start-up, shutdown or clean up.


* Learn how to communicate daily work performed and machine conditions via written and verbal documentation to electrical manager.

(Basic Qualifications)



* • Current enrolled in an associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology

What Will Put You Ahead

• Prior work experience in repairing, troubleshooting, or programming operator interfaces, Allen Bradley PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and experience with Distributed Control (DC).


* Prior mechanical maintenance experience, including fluid handling and conveyor systems, hydraulic systems and accumulators, and valve identification and application and welding.
