Configuration Management Analyst

Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a Configuration Management Analyst to provide expertise to a Federal client in support of their mission critical systems in defense of our Homeland.

The Configuration Management Analyst will take on responsibilities that are central to maintaining the integrity and control of configuration items.

Project Specific Responsibilities:



* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document configuration management requirements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration data.


* Develop and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures for a variety of different systems, such as Windows, Linux, RHEL, etc.


* Maintaining the configuration management database and repository.


* Perform regular audits, review, and documentation for system configurations.


* Support cross-functional teams in conducting environment scans and documentation in preparation for upgrades, patches, disaster recovery, and any other happenings as needed.


* Work closely with system admins, network engineers, platform engineers, and other IT staff to ensure documentation and recording of configurations.


* Manage the configuration report of all systems and software/hardware across the enterprise environment.


* Identify opportunities to improve the configuration process/practices.


* Maintain version control of operational configurations for hardware and software.


* Work closely with stakeholders to resolve configuration-related issues and discrepancies.


* Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Project Minimum Requirements:



* Per contract requirements candidate must possess an Active Secret clearance.


* Due to agency and contract requirements, candidates must be U.S.

citizens with no dual citizenship.


* This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime.

Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule.


* Telework: Candidates must reside within a commutable distance and be available to work onsite at the customer's discretion.

This includes being on-site during the transition period.

Must be based around Annapolis Junction, MD.


* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.


* 7 + years of related experience.


* Experience as a Configuration Management Analyst or related field.


* Change or Configuration Management tools


* Experience with MS Office Suite.

Minimum Requirements

TCS135, T3, Band 6

Preferred Experience:



* Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix, RHEL.


* Configuration Management tools such as IBM ELM or Rational, GIT, or Remedy.


* Sharepoint.
