Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA)- Full Time

Job Title: Restorative Nursing Aide (RNA)

Position Summary: As a Restorative Nursing Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the mobility and independence of our residents.

Your compassionate support will encourage residents to stay active and engaged in daily activities, promoting their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:


* Assist residents with exercises designed to improve or maintain mobility and independence.


* Encourage residents to be active and out of bed, unless medically contraindicated.


* Support residents with transfers, ambulation, and range of motion exercises.


* Ensure residents have clean, well-maintained clothing and linens.


* Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.


* Monitor and change resident positions to prevent skin care issues.


* Maintain a pleasant and odor-free environment for residents.


* Collaborate with the Therapy Department to facilitate active and passive range of motion exercises.


* Document care provided accurately and thoroughly.


* Foster a warm, positive, and calming atmosphere for residents.


* Report significant changes in residents' conditions to the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nursing, or Therapy Department.


* Assist residents in preparing for medical tests, appointments, social activities, and daily meals.


* Support residents with elimination needs, including managing catheter bags and sanitizing bedpans and urinals.


* Promote good personal hygiene practices, including skin care, bathing, hair grooming, and nail care.


* Provide pressure-relieving devices and implement skin protective measures.


* Serve in a maintenance capacity during the absence of therapists or consultants.

Qualifications:


* Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and completion of Restorative Aide Training.
+ Current CPR certification.
+ One year of experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.


* Skills:
+ Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures and policy manuals.
+ Strong communication skills for effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries.
+ Basic mathematical skills to apply concepts like fractions and percentages to practical situations.
+ Problem-solving abilities with a capacity to interpret various types of instructions.


* Certificates and Licenses:
+ Current CNA certification and CPR certification.
+ Restorative Aide Certificate.
+ Knowledge of PCC (Preferred Care Companion) software is a plus.
+ Must maintain all required continuing education and remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.
